Reshaping Rubrene by Controlled Reduction with Alkali Metals

摘要: Mono-, di- and tetraanions of rubrene, (C42H28, Rub0), were generated by the controlled reduction neutral polyarene with various alkali metals in appropriate solvent. The X-ray diffraction studies resulting adducts Rub1–, Rub2– Rub4– alkali-metal ions revealed distortion rubrene core upon stepwise acquisition electrons. Coordination Cs+ ion a noticeable deformation Rub1– are observed at first step. Two types dianions showing an essentially different conformation coordination environment for central tetracene have been seen cesium adduct Rub2–. Various supramolecular assembly between tetrareduced anion, Rub4–, lithium or rubidium cations found corresponding products solid state. structures anions their aggregation solution studied ESR multinuclear NMR (1H, 13C, 7Li 133Cs) spectroscopy.
