摘要: It is argued in this article that family formation conditioned not only by economic factors (more particularly, opportunity structures), but also ideational changes: the produce period fluctuations are superimposed on long-term (and often cohort-driven) effects. Value orientations explored and compared across countries age groups using internationally-comparable data sets provided European Values Studies. The analysis indicates existence of two latent dimensions with respect to familism: tolerance non-conformism formation, meaning attached parenthood. These completely distinct from each other though, both related religious political variables (religiosity, ‘post-materialism’, nationalism, leftism, etc.). Theoretical links made Easterlin's hypothesis which implies fluctuating fertility levels Simon's thesis concerning importance ‘civil religion’ supporting fertility. results are, however, largely line Aries' successive quite transitions West, suggest very likely remain at below-replacement levels.
