Clinical restitution following cerebral ischemia in hypo‐, normo‐ and hyperglycemic rats

摘要: Rats with different levels of blood glucose concentration were exposed to 10 min complete brain ischemia achieved by compression neck vessels a pneumatic cuff. All normoglycemic rats survived the ischemic period and made best clinical recovery. Hyperglycemic died within 12 h. Seizure activity was observed in all animals this group. Three eight hypo-glycemic between 3 16 days. The recovery less than control group. Thus, from cerebral depends upon preischemic concentration. Hyper- hypoglycemia hamper after transient ischemia.
