摘要: Abstract Background Feeling safe in the intensive care unit is of great importance while recovering from critical illness. Moreover, feeling unsafe can result distress. In order to meet safety needs patients as well stimulate their recovery and prevent distress, nurses must be aware factors promoting patients' perception during an admission. To our knowledge, there no synthesis these available yet. Objective systematically describe that promote unit. Design A systematic review qualitative quantitative studies. Data sources PubMed, Embase, CINAHL, PsycINFO were searched up March 2012. Review methods Methodological quality was assessed by two authors using QualSyst tool. included studies extracted into a customised data extraction form. Results The initial search resulted 1326 records. Ultimately, eleven relevant research question review. No needed excluded because low scores. Analysis four overarching themes safe.
