摘要: Histomorphological analysis of inflammatory lesions in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and ankylosing spondylitis (AS) display similarities but also major differences. Ankylosing is characterised by two key pathological findings: sacroiliac joint spinal inflammation new bone formation with the possible consequence fusion, usually axial skeleton. In AS primary site located at enthesis or subchondral marrow oedema, lymphocytic infiltrates, increased osteoclast density microvessel are typical findings acute inflammation. RA has its origin synovial membrane peripheral joints. Osteitis reveals similar compared to it suggested occur secondary membrane. Structural damage defines outcome both diseases. However, defined destruction cortical bone.
