摘要: Two-dimensional all-optical devices include a planar single-mode waveguide formed on or in major surface of supporting substrate. The comprises nonlinear medium having an intensity-dependent index refraction. For input optical signals above critical intensity, self-focusing occurs the waveguide. Microminiature high-speed bistable and switching based this phenomenon compatible with integrated-optics technology are thereby provided.
