摘要: Abstract Naturally, acquired immunity to paralytic poliomyelitis, which is of long duration, associated with serum antibody, immunological memory, or both. Persistence circulating antibody reassuring but not essential for long-term protection. Immunological memory induced by killed poliovirus vaccine similar that infection, a prerequisite the induction immunity. Animal studies experimental vaccines indicate some antigenic components induce without producing detectable antibody; has same effect in man. Killed containing 40, 8, and 32 D-antigen units types 1, 2, 3, respectively, protects all recipients both one-dose two-dose schedules. This means either schedule can be chosen fit local immunisation programmes thus reduce costs increase population coverage.
