摘要: Abstract The aim of the study was to investigate potential sildenafil and tadalafil ameliorate structural kidney damage in contrast-induced nephropathy (CIN). A rat model CIN developed by dehydration, administration a nitric oxide inhibitor prostaglandin synthesis (L-NAME/indomethacin) contrast media exposure iopromide. effect pre-treatment with sildenafil, or N-acetyl cysteine (NAC) for 7 days prior induction investigated. All animals were sacrificed at 24 h after both kidneys collected. Histopathological examination performed under light microscopy serial tissue sections stained hematoxylin eosin. group showed hydropic changes renal tubules (proximal distal convoluted Henle's loop), an increased Bowman space lobulated glomerulus alteration macula densa region convolute tubules. groups pretreated nearly normal histological aspects tissue. NAC similar but less intense histopathologic compared group. Sildenafil ameliorates CIN-related protective these agents is superior NAC.
