摘要: Human idiopathic myocarditis has long troubled those interested in establishing cause(s) and identifying efficacious therapies. To date, neither the cause nor specific therapies are known. Perhaps these difficulties relate to ambiguities of clinical presentation, poorly characterized natural history, lack distinctive therapeutic targets. Nonetheless, continued efforts worldwide understand inflammatory heart disease have reestablished a view that viruses, particularly enteroviruses, play pathogenetic role at least some human myocarditides. Summary experience from several investigators suggests approximately 25% inflamed failing and/or arrhythmic hearts attributable enterovirus infections [1, 2]. The frequency other community-acquired viral involving is much less clear. Even more uncertain manner which viruses may effect injury heart. Hypotheses abound, but little way solid data available. virus direct myocardium appeared convincing fulminant infantile where often isolated demonstrated by molecular techniques (McManus, unpublished data). Autoimmune phenomena concomitants dilated cardiomyopathy [3], their significance not been established.
