摘要: PURPOSE: To elaborate specific tests to evaluate the processing of abilities necessary acquisition alphabetic writing system Brazilian Portuguese, and characterize compare performance elementary school students from 1st 4th grades on proposed test. METHODS: Specific were elaborated following phonological principles Portuguese. One hundred twenty grade a public divided into four groups 30 subjects: GI, GII, GIII GIV. The were: metalinguistic (syllable phoneme identification manipulation, nonwords repetition); reading (reading real words pseudowords). RESULTS: There statistically significant differences among for abilities, with averages decreasing successively grade. Differences also found time pseudowords reading, 3rd grade, remaining equal or close between grades. CONCLUSION: performances gradually increasing obtained superior tasks, when compared manipulation as well syllabic tasks phonemic tasks. was prevalence route in initial (1st 2nd), while graders preferred lexical route.
