Effects of Wii Fit™ Plus Cardiovascular Exercises on Cognitive Function in Older Adults: Feasibility Study.

摘要: Cognitive decline increasingly plague older adults. Although various studies have correlated aerobic exercises with decreased incidence of the development and progression cognitive deterioration in adults, there is no evidence as to whether or not Wii Fit Plus Rhythm Kung-Fu, Hula-Hoop Just Dance can improve function adults measured by Standardized Mini Mental State Examination (SMMSE) instrument. A descriptive study design was used explore feasibility implementing an exercise program for assisted living facility using these games, evaluating enjoyed playing games. sample N =5 participants East Tennessee region Appalachia completed facility. The games lasted from 5-20 minutes per session, twice a week four weeks. Pre/post analysis survey questions suggested that may be feasible implement future studies.
