Decadal-scale variability in hazardous winds in northern Switzerland since end of the 19th century

摘要: The decadal-scale variability in winter hazardous winds northern Switzerland from 1871 to present is investigated the Twentieth Century Reanalysis (20CR). Independent wind speed measurements taken at Zurich climate station show that interannual and decadal realistically represented 20CR. Both time series exhibit pronounced with periods between approximately 36 47 years. At these periodicities, positively correlated North Atlantic Oscillation, however strength statistical significance of their co-variability varies over time.
