摘要: Abstract One use of the periodic acid-Schiff (PAS) stain is to detect dextransucrase and levansucrase activities on polyacrylamide gels by staining their polysaccharide products, dextran levan. When with heavy or levan bands were PAS stained, proteins other than also a high background developed during storage. The caused diffusion periodateoxidized carbohydrate before after staining. This could be greatly slowed, artifact decreased, following crosslinking treatment carbohydrate-dye complex. Protein artifacts prevented using chymotrypsin remove protein from gel at stage synthesis but stain.
