摘要: Eosinophilic esophagitis (EoE) is a chronic inflammatory condition characterized by esophageal dysfunction and dense eosinophilic infiltration of epithelium. According to clinical consensus guidelines published in 2011, eosinophilia was classified into two entities based on response proton pump inhibitor (PPI) administration: EoE PPI-responsive (PPI-REE). We have performed series investigations determine whether actually different from PPI-REE. Consistent with Western reports, more than half our examined patients symptomatic suggestive achieved histological remission single PPI therapy. Furthermore, comparisons clinical, endoscopic, histopathological findings between those PPI-REE revealed nearly no differences them. also compared gene expression profiles mucosal biopsy specimens groups found that microarray obtained substantially overlapped patients, suggesting both represent the same or are variations disease. In addition, we noted who show resistance therapy respond vonoprazan, novel potassium-competitive acid blocker has been shown provide potent sustained suppression gastric secretion PPIs. Our results indicate may constitute subtype EoE. Based evidence including studies, most recently updated included responders within spectrum EoE, abandoning term
