摘要: Antimicrobial compounds and psychotropic medications often share overlapping mechanisms of actions pharmacological effects. The immune system appears to be an important site interaction as several antimicrobials display neurological and, at times, direct effects, while psychotropics have shown significant immunomodulatory properties. isoniazid class antibiotics for example has been possess monoamine oxidase activity, selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors effects on leukocyte populations. As the importance system's role in CNS homeostasis disease continues move forefront neuropsychiatric research, these shared may provide insight, elucidating complexities neuroimmune pathophysiology guiding development potential treatments.
