摘要: Abstract Heart failure (HF) affects over 5.8 million patients in the United States, and can be very costly due to number of hospitalizations re-hospitalizations during final years life. Due large for HF exacerbations, effective methods preventing these occurrences are necessary. Improvements outpatient treatment HF, aided by non-invasive invasive home monitoring methods, reduce hospitalizations. Pulmonary pressure through CardioMEMS system provides one method hemodynamic assessment patients. The efficacy reducing exacerbations has been explored CHAMPION trial (CardioMEMS Sensor Allows Monitoring Pressures Improve Outcomes NYHA Functional Class III Failure Patients), which demonstrated a reduction whose medical management was guided adjusting medications based on pulmonary pressures compared clinical signs symptoms. Retrospective analyses suggest that certain subgroups, including those with left heart dysfunction preserved ventricular ejection fraction, could benefit from controlling their HF. Larger studies needed determine whether mortality reduced monitoring.
