摘要: The structure and orientation of the lipids in cell walls yeast, Staphylococcus aureus Escherichia coli , has been studied by light microscopy, electron microscopy diffraction methods. When fat solvents are applied to hydrated cells aqueous suspension, weakened owing displacement fat-soluble lipids. If yeast allowed dry on a glass surface, degree flattening is proportional lipid displacement. The dried bound both show hexagonal crystalline structure, but proportion shows more condensed orthorhombic structure. The correlation between pattern intensification that there preferred crystals superficial layers cells. hydrocarbon chains normal so higher parallel beam extracted (the flattened plane at right angles beam), although total quantity present reduced treatment with solvent. did not occur, should be weakening pattern, decrease amount present. The analogy wall Calliphora pupal skin discussed.
