摘要: Abstract We have investigated the electronic and geometric structure of surfaces transition metal oxides simple applying electron spectroscopic methods. In order to avoid charging problems, we resorted preparation thin (5 – 50 A) oxide films grown on metallic substrates via several oxidation techniques. studied NiO, CoO, Cr 2 O 3 , Al . The advantage that they may be easily cooled liquid nitrogen helium temperatures. Another interesting feature is possibility prepare thermodynamically unstable surfaces, such as (111) ionic rock salt structures, study adsorption reaction at surfaces. Adsorption molecules has not only been clean but also modified through deposited ultrathin films. Such systems considered models for heterogeneous catalysts.
