Effect of TiO2 nanoparticles aggregation in silicate thin coating films on photocatalytic behavior for antifouling materials

摘要: Two types of disperser namely, a high speed agitation bead mill and colloidal mill, were used for the dispersion behavior control TiO2 nanoparticles (20 nm in average primary diameter) an aqueous suspension. A composite thin film raging thickness from 90 to 400 was prepared coating suspension following addition commercial ethyl silicate oligomer binder into by means spray method. The mean aggregate size found be 80 290 diameter, respectively, when using agitated milling methods. Large aggregates on order several hundred nanometers remain after milling. Further, fine produced process promoted photocatalytic activity enhanced transparency visible light. structure well maintained process.
