Enhanced effect of vacuum-deposited SiO2 overlayer on photo-induced hydrophilicity of TiO2 film

摘要: Photo-induced hydrophilicity of SiO2/TiO2 multilayer film prepared by using the vacuum deposition method was investigated means water contact angle measurement. Using black light irradiation films centering at a wavelength 365 nm, an extreme photo-induced achieved when TiO2 covered SiO2 overlayer ranging from 10 to 20 nm in thickness. These exhibited much more than without overlayer. The surface analyses revealed that enhanced hydrophilic improved photo-catalytic activity towards decomposition organic substances on their surfaces. It found significant growth SiOH group occurred uppermost through depth profile measurement TOF-SIMS. This result suggests photo-generated reactive species such as hole created may transmit layer reach surface. can be explained synergetic effect and stable itself.
