Optimization of ultrasound assisted extraction of antioxidant compounds from marjoram (Origanum majorana L.) using response surface methodology

摘要: The present study optimized the ultrasound assisted extraction (UAE) conditions to maximize antioxidant activity [Ferric ion Reducing Antioxidant Power (FRAP)], total phenol content (TP) and of individual polyphenols extracts from marjoram. Optimal with regard amplitude sonication (24.4-61.0 μm) temperature (15-35 °C) time (5-15 min) were identified using response surface methodology (RSM). results showed that combined treatment 61 μm, 35 °C 15 min optimal for maximizing TP, FRAP, rosmarinic acid, luteolin-7-O-glucoside, apigenin-7-O-glucoside, caffeic carnosic acid carnosol values extracts. predicted developed quadratic polynomial equation in close agreement actual experimental low average mean deviations (E%) ranging 0.45% 1.55%. yields UAE significantly (p < 0.05) higher than solid/liquid Predicted models highly significant all parameters studied high regression coefficients (R(2)) 0.58 0.989.
