摘要: Madder has been used as a textile dye and pigment in works of art since antiquity. dyes from different botanical species are characterized by series anthraquinone derivatives. The occurrence one or more these compounds various relative amounts may provide useful indication the plant to obtain dye. In this work, surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) was applied analysis fibers dyed with madder two species, Oldenlandia umbellata L. Rubia tinctorum resulting SERS spectra were interpreted light actual composition determined high-performance liquid chromatography. Interestingly, found exhibit very distinctive spectral features depending on derivatives present dyes. particular, spectrum O. match alizarin, while R. surprisingly dominated signals due less studied compound pseudopurpurin. With study, we demonstrate that offer valuable information regarding major coloring constituents species. Moreover, our work shows not only can be successfully differentiate among closely related derivatives, but also technique is particularly suitable for detection pseudopurpurin, leading identification number art.
