摘要: Introduction: Several workers have proposed the use of PET (Positron Emission Tomography) imaging for outcome assessment photodynamic therapy (PDT), especially deep-seated tumors. We report on our study 18Ffluorodeoxy- glucose (18F-FDG) following brain tumor Pc4-PDT. Our working hypothesis was that the tumor's metabolic activity would decline dramatically Pc 4-PDT owing to necrosis. Methods: Seven days after intraparenchymal implantation U87 cells, brains 12 athymic nude rats were imaged by micro-CT and/or micro-MR. These animals also 18F-FDG micro-PET (mPET) scanned before and 4-PDT. 18F-FDG was used trace monitored via mPET. Occurrence PDT confirmed histology. The analysis dose animal weight normalized mPET studied over 90 minute µPET scan. Results: Currently, data been for: (1) three did not indicate necrosis on histology assigned a "Non-PDT" group, (2) six exhibited histology and were "PDT" group. The mPET-detected uptake in region after photoirradiation increased Non-PDT group an average 2.28 times, it average of 1.15 times. Discussion: are investigating cause increase we observed in the methodology this should be useful determining whether or other PET, SPECT, or MR functional protocols will detect both specificity sensitivity Pc 4-PDT.
