摘要: The adverse effects and treatment failures to some of the currently recommended drugs for giardia infection have given rise need alternative antigiardial agents. In an open, randomized parallel group study, safety efficacy albendazole was compared with that metronidazole giardiasis in children. Sixty two children aged between 2-12 years were receive either suspension 400 mg daily 5 days or 7.5 mg/kg thrice days. mean required cure, as evident by absence cysts and/or trophozoites stool specimen, 3.7 + 1.4 4.5 1.1 days, respectively on therapy. Six therapy developed anorexia 2 4 after treatment. Albendazole proved effective added advantage anorexia.
