Health promotion behaviors and quality of life among community-dwelling elderly in Korea : A cross-sectional survey

摘要: As individuals live longer, health promotion behaviors become even more important, particularly with regard to maintaining functional independence and improving quality of life (QoL). The purpose this study was explore the relationship between QoL in Korean elderly living community. This a descriptive-correlational among community-dwelling Korea. A convenience sample 2000 community residents who were over 65 years old cognitively intact selected from 32 senior centers 242 public total 1920 included analyses, following exclusion 80 incomplete questionnaires subject refusals. Participants consented participate interviewed by trained interviewers structured questionnaire. results showed that there statistically significant differences related exercise participation, alcohol abstinence blood pressure (BP) check-up (p<.05). Multiple regression analysis revealed perceived status, number chronic illnesses, activities daily living, BP checkup, exercise, gender predictors QoL. R(2) for whole model .412, indicating approximately 41.2% variance accounted linear combination these variables. Nurses should enhance persons facilitating through formal nursing interventions which will maintain increase healthy active life.
