摘要: Future electric vehicles are extremely promising, especially regarding their comfort, safety and mobility. To uphold this aspiration, it is necessary for new technology to surpass previous limits and go beyond levels of performance that were not readily reachable in the past. Moreover, one of the major trends to achieve optimum ride performance and energy consumption [1] deals with power distribution. Indeed, it is readily apparent that the power distribution of electric all-wheel drive system offers a wide range of possibilities. These are defined either in terms of vehicle character tuning [2], power apportionment or energy management, due to their configuration which does not necessitate a mechanical connection that splits the power across front and rear axles, since the motion produced by the motors are already rotary in nature. Thus, they bestow an additional degree of freedom, such that each wheel is capable of independent action.Meanwhile, a traditional single motor all-wheel drive system's layout is usually equipped with a central differential, which forces both axles to spin at the same speed. Such a design often requires a trade-off between the wheels’ output torque and speed to achieve the best possible traction performance, irrespective of the driving mission.
