摘要: Although the environmental issues faced by the society have changed over time, the need for environmental education remains significant. In the middle of last century, pesticide toxicity and the consequence of urbanization were more or less regional in nature but today problems such as climate change, ozone depletion, and biodiversity loss are more global (DiGiuseppe, 2013). From a broader perspective of sustainable development, the United Nations (UN) identified urgent environmental issues, including population growth and unsustainable consumption, poverty and inequality, the loss of biodiversity, deforestation, atmosphere protection and air pollution, depletion of freshwater resource, and waste management for example (United Nations Sustainable Development, 1992).
