摘要: Abstract Unrecognized vaginal intubation during the barium enema procedure with subsequent balloon inflation and contrast instillation is a potentially fatal complication of an otherwise common routine procedure. We describe patient who, while undergoing enema, had misplacement catheter into vagina, rupture superior/lateral vagina upon retention balloon, injection retroperitoneum. The was admitted for surgical repair laceration monitoring chemical peritonitis; managed without exploratory laparotomy. review existing literature, summarize 18 reported cases from worldwide detail potential complications propose management prevention strategies based on mechanism injury.
