摘要: N-Methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor antagonists inhibit both the kindling process and expression of seizures in previously kindled adult rats. Experimental are more readily produced infant than rats, possibly related to a developmental predominance NMDA receptor-mediated effects. If so, reduction seizure susceptibility by should be dramatic rats adults. We studied effect ketamine MK-801 on epileptogenesis 15-day-old Ketamine (5, 10, 20 mg/kg) (0.033 0.1 significantly increased latency stage 3 or 4 dose-dependent fashion. These results were similar those found adults but occurred at slightly lower doses. mg/kg 0.33 totally eliminated clinical activity nearly abolished afterdischarge effects exceeding reported using doses up 6 times as great. support hypotheses that neurotransmission plays an important role production immature brain raise possibility could useful antiepilepsy agents young children.
