摘要: ABSTRACT In order to determine whether axonal injury (AI) is a factor in cases of penetrating head injury, the brains 14 patients who died shortly after sustaining fatal gunshot wound (GSW) were examined, and presence AI determined using immunohistochemical staining for amyloid precursor protein (APP). The distribution was mapped throughout cerebral hemispheres brain stem. present all diffuse distant missle track with severe involvement stem cases. There no APP immunoreactivity direct region at point primary axotomy. APP-positive these likely be mixture secondary as immunostaining unable distinguish due mechanical deformation from hypoxic-ischemic damage.
