摘要: Abstract Following cannulation of the right common carotid aretery female Sprague-Dawley rats, 3 μCi (10 μg) either [3H]haloperidol or [3H]amphetamine were infused. At various time intervals, drug concentrations determined in and left striata, anterior forebrains, posterior forebrains cerebella. One minute following unilateral intracarotid infusion haloperidol, approximately a 90–100-fold right/left (ipsilateral/contralateral) difference was attained striatum forebrain, while more than 75-fold evident forebrain. amphetamine infusion, greater 40-fold seen all forebrain structures. The right-left differences steadily declined with as result declining infused hemisphere. pharmacokinetic parameters both distribution elimination phases similar each region for haloperidol amphetamine. kinetic did, however, show specific differences. Bilateral intraperitoneal administration to unilaterally cannulated rats nearly identical. Therefore, procedure did not significantly alter blood supply This is first study quantify analyze cerebral conscious animals. technique should be useful studying functional biochemical interhemispheric relationships well lateralized behaviors.
