Caring for self and others: Increasing health care students' healthy behaviors

摘要: Objective: Living a healthy lifestyle in order to manage stress encountered the health care system is important for professionals. The purpose of this study was increase behaviors undergraduate students professional majors by introducing promotion intervention required course. Participants: sample consisted 201 from nursing (NUR) (n = 82, 40.8%), occupational therapy (OT) 72, 35.8%), and speech- language pathology (SLP) 47, 23.4%). Methods: A pretest-posttest comparison group design used. NUR OT received encourage SLP served as did not receive content on self promotion. Results: Thecomparison (SLP)hadsignificantlylowerscoresontheoverallHealthPromotingLifestyleProfileII(HPLPII), physical activity nutrition scales at posttest when compared pretest. In contrast, (NUR & OT) significantly increased their responsibility measured HPLPII survey end semester. Conclusions: Infusing curricula may better prepare professionals living lifestyle.
