摘要: Objective There has been a significant shift in the understanding of facial anatomy during last decade. Newer minimally invasive therapeutic options for rejuvenation procedures are increasing need better knowledge anatomy. Material and methods The current literature is summarized, analyzed presented along with experience author this narrative review, which summarizes superficial deep fat compartments their relevance procedures. A schematic model was created order to facilitate complexity Results face arranged five layers as follows: layer 1: skin; 2: subcutaneous including retinacula cutis (composed fibrous connective tissue); 3: musculo-aponeurotic system (SMAS); 4: fat; 5: periosteum or fascia. This arrangement varies between regions, especially when line ligaments incorporated into model. located 2 4; each unique characteristics spatial relationships surrounding tissues. Conclusions concept layered new way understand relationship functional interplay soft tissues face. Understanding layers, precise location boundaries crucial conduct safe effective
