摘要: In the past decade, high attention has been given to Disability-Adjusted Life Year (DALY) metric. One DALY is one lost year of "healthy" life. DALYs for a disease or health condition are measured by sum (a) Years Lost (YLL) because premature death occurred in target population and (b) due Disability (YLD) those living with that its consequences. YLL corresponds number deaths multiply standard life expectancy at age gender which occurs. YLD estimated multiplying incidents average duration weight factor reflects severity (disability DW). DW reported on scale from 0 (perfect health) 1 (dead). The DWs could be several utility measurement techniques (1). these across assumed as burden disease. This gap between current status an ideal situation where entire lives advanced age, free disability. study undertaken World Health Organization, it was found poisoning individuals scored 0.611-0.608 while stroke example 0.920 cretinism 0.804. On other side spectrum, otitis media, pharyngitis mild upper respiratory infection were 0.023, 0.07 0.00 respectively (2). Poisoning general, therefore, considered highly disabling condition. can intentional, accidental criminal (3). Its includes physical well mental disabilities. While medical intentional poisonings seems equal similar severe cases, often occurs patients depression coping difficulties may need extra psychological, familial social attention. It shown suicide (including suicidal poisonings) puts 21st rank list most important diseases. Suicide nonfatal attempted together climb position 11th this ranking diseases (4). Furthermore, adding suffering thoughts will behaviors among poisonings, type medication toxic agent used, dose, route administration, chronic use, addiction racial differences infrastructure, pre-hospital care availability antidotes affect outcome. Unlike overdose multivitamins, low dose oral consumption aluminum phosphide lead critical death. addition, some such opioid easily treatable presence effective antidotes. These variables drastically change weights different regions. Experts who establish disability pairwise comparisons (5), person trade off methods should careful toxicology. Extra caution interpretation poisonings. Accidental also independently. Perhaps, each calculated interpreted separately
