摘要: Mature saturated brine (crystallizers) communities are largely dominated (>80% of cells) by the square halophilic archaeon "Haloquadratum walsbyi". The recent cultivation strain HBSQ001 and thesequencing its genome allows comparison with metagenome this taxonomically simplified environment. Similar studies carried out in other extreme environments have revealed very little diversity gene content among cell lineages present. microbial community a crystallizer pond has been analyzed end sequencing 2000 clone fosmid library comparing sequences obtained sequence sequenced was retrieved nearly complete within environmental DNA library. However, many ORF's that could be ascribed to "Haloquadratum" metapopulation common characteristics or scaffolding were not present specific isolate. Particularly, three regions associated multiple rearrangements presence different genes from metapopulation. Many transposition phage related found pool which, together atypical GC these areas, supports lateral transfer mediated elements as most probable genetic cause variability. Additionally, highly enriched putative regulatory signal transduction functions. These results point large pan-genome (total repertoire genus/species) even specialized extremophile at single geographic location. extensive is what might expected population exploits diverse nutrient pool, resulting degradation biomass produced lower salinities.
