摘要: Costunolide, a sesquiterpene lactone, is biologically active molecule found in most of the medicinally valuable plants. The present study aims to evaluate anticancer property costunolide isolated from Costus speciosus against breast cancer cell lines (MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231). Costunolide effectively reduced viability both MCF-7 MDA-MB-231 at an IC50 value 40 μM. Flow cytometric analysis revealed mediated cycle arrest G2/M phase types. Western blotting results confirmed alterations expression regulators (cyclin D1, D3, CDK-4, CDK-6, p18 INK4c, p21 CIP1/Waf-1 p27 KIP1) apoptosis inducers (caspase-3 caspase-9) upon treatment comparison with their expressions normal line (MCF-10A). downregulation positive upregulation negative were related induction cells. above validated in-silico that predicted stable interactions between targets. Thus induced targeting regulation, compound can be used as effective herbal therapeutic treat further explorations.
