摘要: Polymer matrix composites are desirable engineering materials owing to their high strength and stiffness as well corrosion resistance. The achieved in these on a per unit mass basis (specific properties) surpasses that for metals by factors of up 51. This has led use polymer weight sensitive applications ranging from commercial military aircraft automobiles. Currently, the wider application is limited product variability labor intensive, time consuming manufacturing processes. These particularly troublesome large volume production where trend towards more rapid processing tends exacerbate problem rejection ratios. Recent advances automated, computer controlled manufacture have been encouraging, although lack suitable process monitoring.
