摘要: A neurotumor of a peripheral nerve origin, RT4, was induced by subcutaneous injection newborn BDIX strain rat with ethylnitrosourea. The tumor cells were adapted to cell culture and, after about 2 months, found consist displaying four distinct morphologies (AC, B, D, and E). Clonal lines the types established. Their morphological stability suggested that there stem type (AC) which differentiated into other (B, Presumptive established from single cells. In 10 12 clonal lines, colonies appeared in approximately 40 days. One maintained for 55 days, all three resulted same culture. are morphologically indistinguishable isolated original tumor. We thus able demonstrate RT4 apparently capable multipotential differentiation vitro. call this phenomenon conversion. one (D) produce nervous system specific protein, S100 while its production is arrested when differentiate two (B No appreciable levels neurotransmitter synthesizing enzymes (choline acetyltransferase, tyrosine hydroxylase, glutamic acid decarboxylase) detected any chromosome number each line predominantly normal diploid cells, 42.
