摘要: Neospora caninum and Toxoplasma gondii are biologically morphologically similar coccidians with canids as definitive hosts for N. felids T. gondii. Feral chickens have been used indicators of soil contamination oocysts because they feed from ground. In the present study we studied seroprevalence in free range different countries America an indicator due to oocysts. Antibodies were found sera 524 (39.5%) 1324 using indirect fluorescent antibody test (IFAT, titer 1:25 or higher). Seropositive were: 18.5% 97 Mexico, 7.2% USA, 39.5% 144 Costa Rica, 71.5% 102 Grenada, 44% 50 Guatemala, 83.6% 98 Nicaragua, 58.1% 55 Argentina, 34.3% 358 Brazil, 62.3% 85 Chile, 11.2% 62 Colombia, 38.7% 80 Guyana, 18% Peru 21.7% 46 Venezuela. The results indicate widespread exposure caninum.
