Fifty-eight 20-day old were individually identified with numbered rings and kept in cages adequate species. birds fed commercial feed distilled water ad libitum. They weighed daily during first month every seven days from then on. randomly distributed into 3 groups; 40 (group A) 8 B) received 3.5×10(6) 5×10(6) N. caninum tachyzoites, respectively, 10 C) placebo. Four group A one C had their blood collected euthanized on 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 14th, 21th, 30th, 60th, 120th day after infection (DAI), 4 B 60th DAI. Following euthanasia, submitted necropsy, organs fragments histopathology, immunohistochemistry (IHC) PCR. On DAI, two dogs tissue obtained quails, dog quail tissues B. dogs' weekly serology, feces 33 microscopy molecular identification oocysts. Student's t-test used compare weights cloacal temperature. No presented any clinical signs or died. Splenomegaly hepatomegaly primary necropsy findings week (p<0.05). Positive immunoreactivity through IHC parasite, observed, especially weeks infection. eliminated oocysts seroconverted. infected gained more weight than control quails. results demonstrated that are resistant tachyzoites under conditions study.
