摘要: This study was conducted to evaluate whether polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) such as γ-linolenic acid (GLA) and eicosapentaenoic (EPA), found in the diet, may affect lipid composition of conjunctival epithelium these modifications prostaglandin (PG) production after inflammatory stimulation. Chang IOBA-NHC human cells were treated with GLA and/or EPA at 5, 10, 20, 30, 40, or 50 μg/ml for 72 h then stimulated interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) 48 h. Changes neutral lipids phospholipids monitored by gas chromatography. PGE1 PGE2 levels measured enzyme immunoassay. PUFA supplementations culture medium induced incorporation their metabolites cells. The not affected stimulation IFN-γ. supplementation whereas it modified supplementation. A combined did change but decreased PGE2. These results suggest that modulation PG is possible epithelium, which an important site inflammation dry eye syndrome.
