摘要: PURPOSE: To demonstrate that interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma) is the key cytokine responsible for upregulation of HLA-DR antigen in conjunctival epithelial cells Sjogren syndrome (SS) patients. METHODS: Flow cytometry from SS and non-SS dry eye patients was performed quantification surface expression. With a cell line (ChWK), regulation by various cytokines evaluated, confocal immunocytochemical western blot analyses were to evaluate activation nuclear factorkappa B (NF-kappaB) signal transducers activators transcription 1 3 (STAT1 STAT3, respectively). RESULTS: expression upregulated but not patient or healthy control subject. IFN-gamma only effectively ChWK, which synergistically enhanced tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha). induced translocation NF-kappaB, did activate STAT1 STAT3 ChWK. CONCLUSIONS: Upregulation epithelium may be regulated through NF-kappaB.
