Ethological theory and the expression of emotion in the voice

摘要: A useful source for unifying theories guiding research on the expression of emotions by voice as well accompanying visual gestures (kinesics) is provided ethology, science devoted to comparative study behavior. Ethology, examining human and non behavior, maintains that much behavior shaped phylogenetic adaptations. The author reviews presents evidence relevant some fundamental theoretical issues addressed ethology: Does a signal emotion reflect inner (psycho)physiological state signaler or it rather primarily designed induce in receivers benefits signaler? Are there cross cultural species similarities emotional signals? separate components signals, e.g., quality, FO, kinesic elements like eyebrow level independent each other are they correlated way mutually enhance conveyance given message? What basic vocabulary emotions? How many there?.
