摘要: Domestic dogs produce a range of vocalisations, including barks, growls, and whimpers, which are shared with other canid species. The source–filter model vocal production can be used as theoretical applied framework to explain how why the acoustic properties some vocalisations constrained by physical characteristics caller, whereas others more dynamic, influenced transient states such arousal or motivation. This chapter thus reviews particular call types produced transmit specific information, information may perceived receivers. As domestication is thought have caused divergence in behaviour compared ancestral wolf, evidence both dog–human human–dog communication considered. Overall, it clear that domestic potential acoustically broadcast available conspecific human Moreover, highly attentive speech able extract speaker identity, emotional state, even semantic information.
