摘要: The topic of Integrated Testing Strategies (ITS) has attracted considerable attention, and not only because it is supposed to be a central element REACH, the ambitious European chemical regulation effort. Although what ITSs are do seems unambiguous, i.e. speeding up hazard risk assessment while reducing testing costs, much been said, except basic conceptual proposals, about methodologies that would allow execution these concepts. pressing concern, ITS drawn mostly general reviews, broad concepts, expression clear need for more research on ITS. Published in field remains scarce. Solutions design emerge slowly, most likely due methodological challenges task, perhaps also its complexity multidisciplinary collaboration. Along with challenge, offer unique opportunity contribute Toxicology 21st century by providing frameworks tools actually implement toxicology data management decision making processes. Further, have potential significantly modernization science assessment. Therefore, advance we propose methodical approach their will discuss currently available approaches as well overcome. To this end, define framework inform toxicological decisions systematic, transparent, consistent way. We review requirements developed earlier present roadmap an operational should probabilistic, hypothesis-driven, adaptive. Furthermore, properties order meet identified differentiate them from evidence synthesis. Making use skin sensitization, demonstrate how proposed concepts can implemented.
