摘要: A dose limit–based criterion was proposed to authorize hospital discharge of thyroid carcinoma patients treated with 131I. Evaluation accumulated doses determine the effective half-life, expected at 1 m, and hospitalization time performed ensure that limit satisfied for each patient. Situations involving different limits occupancy factors were analyzed. This study dealt only external exposure; problem internal contamination not considered. Methods: Fourteen postoperatively 131I studied. The range activity 1,110–8,175 MBq. Electronic dosimeters thermoluminescent dosimeter chips placed on left pectoral muscle. Dose measured a mean approximately 2.5 d. plotted as function then fitted using an exponential model obtain parameters total half-life. public relatives m calculated point source approximation several factors. Results: fit in first 36 h predicted behavior within 5% error parameters. Estimated values from patient generally
