摘要: Abstract Objective The aim of this study was to examine the performance three commonly used depression rating scales in a hospital sample patients with chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS). Methods Sixty-one CDC criteria for CFS completed General Health Questionnaire (GHQ), Hamilton Depression Scale (HAM-D) and subscale Hospital Anxiety (HADS-D). Current psychiatric status assessed using Structured Clinical Interview DSM-III-R. Disorders Patient version (SCID-P). Receiver operating curves were drawn each scales. Results Thirty-one percent depressed according SCID-P. Using standard cut-offs, both GHQ HAM-D overestimated number patients, whilst HADS-D underestimated number. receiver suggest that optimum cut-offs GHQ, population are 7/8, 13/14 8/9, respectively. Conclusions Standard cutoffs may not be appropriate when tertiary care setting.
