Experimental Analysis of TCP and UDP Traffic Performance over Infra-structured 802.11b WLANs

摘要: In this paper we present the results of experiments carried out in an infra-structured 802.11b WLAN comprising a single Access Point (AP) and number user terminals. The aim work is twofold: by one hand, validate well-known ?TCP (UDP) over 802.11? analytic models means experimental results; other focus our analysis on TCP behavior 802.11b. We about flow fairness, interaction between link layer parameters (ARQ) transport protocols flows traffic characteristics. With respect to earlier related works, added value given more accurate knowledge control key that highly affect system performance (e.g., mobile station transmission bitrate, maximum retransmission attempts, version, etc.) guarantees reliability numerical results. This issue order confidently explain observed phenomena.
