摘要: The rationale for the use of hepatic arterial infusion is to achieve higher drug levels in tumorous areas liver and lower systemic levels. This possible because malignant lesions derive most their blood supply from artery, while normal hepatocytes portal circulation. observation was made on basis pathological data animal tumors [1], a human study [2] using labeled 5-fluoro-2-deoxy-uridine (FUDR). Ten patients were injected with tritium [3H]-FUDR (1 µCi/kg) either artery or vein. Liver biopsies obtained after injection demonstrated that mean tumor FUDR following 12.4 nmol/g, those vein 0.8 nmol/g (P<0.01). clearly demonstrates regional chemotherapy metastases colorectal carcinoma should be administered through artery.
