摘要: A study was made on the mechanism by which consumption of peas affects beneficially glycaemia in a rat model non-insulin-dependent diabetes. With standard diet, diabetic rats showed elevated throughout study, varying between 8.3 and 10.0 mmol/L. administration diet peas, declined significantly from second day, stayed at levels near normal for rest study. significant inhibitory activity pancreatic amylase enzyme detected raw pea extract. possible hypoglycaemic effect might therefore reside partially its carbohydrate digestion.
